'electric lily' brooch | ||||
| The design for this One-Of-A-Kind brooch was inspired by the fluid grace and shape of lilies. A truly phenomenol one-of-a-kind work of art, the base of the flower was first carved in wax and then cast in solid 18 karat yellow gold. The 'petals' of the 'Electric Lily' are formed of niobium, and then anodized to exhibit a rainbow array of iridescent colours. 18 karat gold 'stamen' peek out of the blooms center. Some of the stamen are accented by sparkling, brilliant cut diamonds. A speckled pattern was created over the anodized niobium by building up many layers of 24 karat gold leaf. The brooch will be securely held in place by its handmade 14 karat white gold pinstem and catch. The entire brooch is 90mm long and has a total weight of 45.1 grams.
